London, 9th June 2015: Azzurri Communications, the UK’s leading independent provider of cloud and managed communication services, today announced that it has once again been awarded “Application Development Gold Status” by Microsoft.

The competency, awarded as part of the Microsoft Partner Network (MPN), was awarded as a result of the development of a new customer engagement app for Azzurri clients, called “Azzurri Engage”.

Microsoft competencies are awarded to their partners who have proven skills and experience in a given area that sets them apart from the competition. ‘Application Development Gold Status’ demonstrates ‘Best in Class’ capability, and is the highest award for experience and knowledge in the production of software products.

In order to requalify for Gold Status in 2015, Azzurri was required to showcase a new custom application project developed on the Windows platform, and prove positive market response.

The resulting app “Azzurri Engage”, which was produced by Azzurri subdivision Callmedia, is a new mobile engagement application that integrates with Callmedia Expert Contact – a multi-channel contact centre management platform – that allows companies with contact centres to offer their customers a way of assessing the most appropriate channel through which to make contact in real-time.

The app shows customers the current call queue times, current average response times to email or social media and similar metrics for any other channels that may be offered by the contact centre. The app is currently available to Callmedia clients, and can also be offered as a white-labelled product.

Roy Sayles, Director of Innovations at Azzurri Communications said: “Azzurri Engage is an industry first, making it the ideal way to prove our Gold Status credentials. This recognition confirms our position as experts in delivering technology that meets the changing needs of the modern contact centre, and will translate into tangible benefits to our customers through the additional resources the award entitles us to.

“Application Development Gold Status was dependent on securing multiple positive customer reviews and pieces of feedback – a target which we substantially exceeded,” continued Sayles. “This was important not only for our aim to secure Microsoft recognition, but also to test the market’s appetite for the type of technology and the app itself. We are now confidently looking forward to helping our clients transform their customers’ experience through Expert Contact over the coming months.
